For me it is the Ruger SP101 in .357 with a 3-inch barrel. Heavy enough to tame recoil but small enough to carry without feeling like a boat anchor. I carried one for a couple years working nights and never felt "undergunned".
My top carry revolver is the Smith & Wesson 686 Plus. It's reliable, easy to shoot, and holds more rounds than most.,.it just feels solid in hand and performs flawlessly in real-world situations
