Talking about carbine gas

Given today’s progress in ammunition and rifle components, is there still a valid reason to opt for carbine gas on 16" builds?

Mid-length gas systems have gained popularity for a good reason but carbine gas on a 16" barrel isn't outdated just yet. If you're working with a budget build or aiming for maximum compatibility with shorter firearms, carbine gas is still a great choice. Modern buffers and adjustable gas blocks help to address most of the drawbacks anyway.
