How's the military surplus market looking these days? I remember when you could get a Mosin for less than $100 and stock up on surplus ammo without worrying. Now it feels like everything is either running low or priced like it's a rare collectible. Are there still some good deals out there if you know where to search, or have most of the great imports already been picked over? Is it still worth it?

Its mostly picked. Now its all out there on the net. And of course in local gun shops.

The days have passed where they had 29.oo mail order milserp rifles from Kleins and others in NRA publications back then.

Agree with this

The real surplus pipeline has been empty for quite some time. What used to come in crates is now just individual items being flipped online or sold in shops. Once the Kleins-era $29 rifles dried up, that classic surplus culture pretty much faded away. It’s definitely a different era now.

If you search and know your values, there are some bargains out there. With many of the new gun control laws and transfer fees. Todays market for milserps is not what was seen in the 60's and 70's.

Inflation is another factor. So the internet for prices. And local gun shops for the win if you can find that gem you seek to find.
