I want to hunt ducks this season. People talk about Bombay Hook. Are Prime Hook or Augustine WMA good too?

Bombay Hook is solid but crowded. Prime Hook can be excellent if you're willing to do some walking.

Augustine is smaller, but if you time it with tides, the birds come in thick. Bring waders and be ready to set up before daylight.

I've hunted at Bombay Hook a few times, yeah plenty of ducks, but it can get crowded. I haven't tried Prime Hook or Augustine WMA much, but I've heard they're good spots too, especially early season

Sounds like all three WMAs have potential. If I can only scout one before opener, which would you prioritize? I don't mind a walk-in if it means better hunting.

If you're on the hunt for a place with plenty of ducks and easy access, it's tough to beat Prime Hook. But don't sleep on Augustine WMA, with a little scouting and some timing to match weather and migration patterns, you might just find your next favorite spot.

The early teal season can really be great for all 3 types of waterfowl. But when late season rolls around, you can expect to see a whole bunch of divers and sea ducks, especially down by the coast at Prime Hook.
