Reloading a Swiss Vetterli

I’m starting a new project with a Swiss Vetterli and I’ll need to make my own rounds. Does anyone here have any experience with reloading .41 Swiss centerfire?

With .41 Swiss centerfire, you're definitely in the custom zone. Buffalo Arms stocks brass and bullets specifically designed for it and Starline might be another good option to use . Just curious, what’s the condition of your rifle? Thatll really affect how hot you can load it.

That’s a pretty niche cartridge, so you’ll probably end up working from formed brass or custom cases. Most people rely on careful case forming, low-pressure loads and lots of incremental testing to keep things safe.

It’s a doable project, but very much a “measure twice, test small batches” situation. Most of the work usually goes into adapting brass and finding consistent components rather than the actual loading process.

I’ve loaded .41 Swiss centerfire a few times, the case forming is the tricky part and when you get consistent brass, it’s a very manageable and surprisingly accurate cartridge to work with.
